Description

You will design, model, and optimize OLTP-focused database technologies to build performant, scalable applications.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data models for relational (MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems (Cosmos DB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Optimize database performance, resiliency, and scalability by incorporating advanced features into model designs.
• Write and tune complex stored procedures and support Entity Framework-based application coding concepts.
• Develop performant data movement pipelines using real-time event data streams such as Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub, or AWS Kinesis.
• Implement data security and privacy standards, including role-based security, encryption, tokenization, and obfuscation.

Required Skills

• Minimum 6 years of software development experience and 4 years of hands-on database engineering (RDBMS and NoSQL).
• Proficiency with MS SQL Server and advanced SQL concepts (T-SQL, PL/SQL) for high-transaction environments.
• Experience with NoSQL databases including Cassandra, Cosmos DB, or DynamoDB.
• Strong programming skills in .NET, C#, Python, or core Java.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions on Azure or AWS.
• Deep understanding of SQL engine internals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Expertise in performance tuning for large volume and velocity data environments.
• Experience with Dev/Ops tools such as Azure DevOps, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Ability to handle structured and semi-structured data formats like JSON and XML.
