Description

You will manage and support DB2 z/OS production systems within a sysplex data-sharing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and create database objects including tables, columns, and indexes.
  • Execute performance tuning for SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures, and triggers to resolve concurrency issues.
  • Implement database backup and recovery strategies and schedule maintenance utilities.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to promote DB2 best practices during application design.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and application developers on complex technical issues.
  • Provide rotating 24x7 on-call support.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior DBA role supporting DB2 (version 9 or higher) production systems.
  • Expertise in DB2 version 11 or 12 on the z/OS platform.
  • Proficiency with logical and physical data modeling design concepts.
  • Experience with table partitioning and maintaining very large databases.
  • Strong SQL skills and performance tuning experience.
  • Knowledge of third-party tools including Omegamon, IBM DB2 Admin, BMC, CDB, and CA.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects to completion.

Preferred Skills

  • IBM Certification.
