Description

You will own the engineering, administration, and security of Db2 for z/OS subsystems in large enterprise Sysplex and data sharing environments.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead Db2 V13 upgrades, including DSNZPARM tuning, software deployment, and backout planning.
• Manage the Db2 software lifecycle using SMP/E, PTF evaluation, RSU planning, and APAR analysis.
• Configure and govern security architecture, including RACF integration, encryption, and SECADM/SYSADM separation.
• Develop automation tools using JCL, REXX, Python, Git, Jenkins, and Zowe APIs.
• Analyze vulnerability findings and CVE applicability to define remediation strategies and production readiness criteria.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS engineering, administration, and performance tuning.
• Expert knowledge of Db2 subsystem internals: IRLM, DDF, EDM pools, buffer pools, logging, and WLM.
• Proven experience supporting Db2 data sharing groups, coupling facilities, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong understanding of z/OS functions relevant to Db2: APF, link list, LPA, SMS, JES, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with mainframe DevOps tooling: JCL, REXX, Python, USS, Git, Jenkins, z/OSMF, and Zowe APIs.
• Ability to assess security risks, configuration drift, and exploitability for Db2 environments.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
