Description

You will own the availability, security, and performance of production data across on-prem and AWS environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL on Linux.
• Design, implement, and monitor backup solutions and high availability strategies including replication, synchronization, and clustering.
• Execute heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations, such as MySQL to AWS Aurora or Oracle to MySQL.
• Enforce security standards for user accounts, groups, and database configurations across all environments.
• Perform database design and performance tuning to optimize query execution and stored procedures.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise in MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience managing database clusters on AWS EC2 and AWS Aurora.
• Proficiency with MySQL replication and clustering technologies like Galera, GTID, and XtraDB/InnoDB.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB ReplicaSets and Redis.
• Competency in Linux/Unix environment administration and shell scripting (regular expressions, functions, conditional expressions).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Percona Toolkit, Prometheus, Zabbix, or Grafana.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Shell, Python, or Perl.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with configuration management using Ansible or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Oracle database environments.
