Description

You will own the end-to-end design and development of automotive chassis systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design chassis components including frames, suspensions, mounting brackets, and cross members using PTC CREO.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups and apply design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
• Create and manage detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and simulation teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Support prototype builds, validation, and root cause analysis of design issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on expertise in PTC CREO (version 4.0 or later).
• Proven experience in automotive chassis design for commercial, off-road, or passenger vehicles.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal, weldments, casting, and fabrication processes.
• Proficiency with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards) and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of materials such as steel, aluminum, and composites.
• Ability to interpret FEA results and incorporate feedback into designs.
• Experience working within PLM environments like Windchill or Teamcenter.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to simulation tools such as ANSYS or HyperMesh.
• Experience with prototype testing, validation, and global vehicle safety standards.
