Description

You will lead mechanical component design from initial concept through to production release.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute concept generation and design down-selection for mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Perform engineering analysis using FEA, CFD, and hand calculations to validate designs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to implement new designs and manage transition plans.
• Apply root cause analysis techniques to determine failure origins and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with certification and building codes.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering or 7+ years with an MA/MS degree.
• Deep understanding of industrial electromechanical designs including piping, structures, and electronics integration.
• Experience with process piping designs such as powerplants, electrolyzers, or industrial generators.
• Expertise in pipe and tube welded assemblies (1" to 8" steel and stainless steel).
• Working knowledge of ASME B31 pressure piping design, analysis, and testing.
• Proficiency with industry standards including ASTM, ASME, ISO, IEC, AWS, and KGS.
• Experience executing complex customer requirements within a global business environment.
• Proven ability in project leadership and technical knowledge sharing across disciplines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with fuel cell or electrolyzer balance of plant design.
• Proficiency in CREO, Windchill, ANSYS, and Mathcad.
• Knowledge of structural weldments and pressure vessels.
