Description

Lead mechanical design efforts for new products used in late model air cooled Porsche vehicles.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and create mechanical designs using SolidWorks or Catia V5.
• Design around packaging environments, mounting strategies, and load conditions for automotive components.
• Develop, execute, and manage component and system validation plans and vehicle part evaluations.
• Interface with suppliers to manage deliverables and collaborate with global Design, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
• Review and approve 3D models and 2D drawings produced by junior engineers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in Catia V5.
• Experience with Production Engineering.
• Experience managing Supply Chain interfaces.
• Ability to perform testing and validation of new designs.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma process improvement.
• Ability to evaluate existing drawings and 3D models of assemblies.
