Description

You will lead the mechanical design and development of new products for late model air-cooled Porsche vehicles.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical designs using SolidWorks or Catia V5, managing packaging environments, mounting strategies, and load conditions.
• Develop and execute part evaluations, component validation plans, and testing processes for new designs.
• Build working prototypes for first article fit and function testing.
• Review and approve 3D models and 2D drawings and specifications produced by junior engineers.
• Manage suppliers to meet project deliverables and collaborate with global Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Catia V5.
• Experience designing around automotive component packaging and mounting strategies.
• Ability to manage supplier interfaces and project deliverables.
• Experience with component and system validation planning.
• Knowledge of Production Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality workflows.
• Ability to create technical documentation, including work instructions and exploded view parts manuals.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma process improvement.
