Description

Lead tire development programs from concept through manufacturing to meet customer and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop new tires and enhance existing products to meet specific performance targets and customer approvals.
• Create test plans to evaluate tire performance and analyze data to drive design recommendations.
• Collaborate with KRDC development engineers on OEM and replacement projects.
• Travel to manufacturing plants to support new tire development and production processes.
• Interface directly with OEM and internal customers while participating in industry organizations like TRA, ETTRTO, TMC, USTMA, and RMA.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of tire development experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5.
• Advanced knowledge of tire construction.
• Ability to design and optimize mold profiles and constructions independently.
• Intermediate knowledge of tread pattern design and optimization.
• Basic Tire FEA and basic knowledge of compounding related to tire performance.
• Knowledge of plant activities including component preparation, tire building, and curing.
• Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams.
• Understanding of regulatory issues concerning tires.
• Capacity for domestic and international travel.

Preferred Skills

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
