Description

Lead secure boot and bootloader development for next-generation electric vehicle platforms. Own the design, implementation, and validation of platform security features from hardware root of trust to firmware update.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure boot frameworks and bootloaders (U-Boot or custom) for vehicle ECUs on embedded Linux/QNX.
• Implement secure boot chains, firmware authentication, encryption, and secure OTA update mechanisms.
• Enable and debug hardware bring-up for new platforms, optimizing boot time, memory footprint, and system performance.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level validation strategies for platform security features.
• Collaborate with system and security teams to define and implement platform security requirements.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in embedded systems development, preferably in automotive or networking domains.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and scripting languages (Python, Shell).
• Deep expertise in bootloader development, secure boot implementation, and chain of trust.
• Hands-on experience with hardware security features: OTP fuses, JTAG locking, secure key storage, and cryptographic modules.
• Proficiency in debugging using JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Strong knowledge of embedded Linux systems and device bring-up.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems and secure firmware delivery.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AUTOSAR, QNX, or RTOS-based systems.
• Knowledge of cryptographic protocols (PKI, TLS, AES, RSA, ECC) and automotive standards (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434).
