Description

You will develop control algorithms and embedded software for diesel engines and hybrid power systems.

Responsibilities

• Create control algorithms and software models using Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow to meet system requirements.
• Conduct control system tuning and calibration on test benches, test beds, or machines to achieve performance targets.
• Execute verification and validation testing for electronics and control software using SiL, HiL, or on-test bed environments.
• Perform sub-system FMÉAs, documenting failure modes and managing design and validation actions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electronics and control system issues encountered during engine or power system operation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in diesel engine or hybrid power systems development.
• Significant experience using Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow for model-based software design.
• Proven ability to code algorithms into embedded software and test them via hardware-in-the-loop (HiL).
• Experience translating customer requirements into production-ready software models.
• Knowledge of software FMÉA and validation plan creation.
• Degree in mechanical, electronic, electrical, control systems, or automotive engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for control system troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HiL test equipment and programming automated tests.
• Knowledge of software version control systems such as Git or Clearcase.
• Experience developing software to meet functional safety requirements.
