Roles and Responsibilities:

• Understand the programme of work and the existing technical landscape within Treasury Technology.
• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Ensure software meets defined functional and non-functional requirements.
• Ensure solutions adhere to architectural and development standards.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to deliver component designs and solutions.
• Solve complex technical challenges and remove technical blockers for engineering teams.
• Establish and promote technical standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Ensure application maintainability and appropriately prioritize refactoring alongside new feature development.
• Develop backend components supporting real-time reporting, batch processing, and downstream system integrations.
• Design and implement high-volume data processing and ETL solutions.
• Work with stream-based processing and Big Data technologies.
• Perform application and database performance tuning.
• Participate in high-level estimation, release planning, and technical delivery activities.
• Work effectively within an Agile delivery environment, preferably Scrum or LeSS.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, system, and performance tests.
• Use version control and software development practices such as Git Flow.
• Leverage AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, optimize workflows, and solve business problems while applying appropriate judgment to AI-generated outputs.

Skills Required:

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java.
• Spring / Spring Boot.
• Oracle Database and PL/SQL.
• Programming experience in Python; Scala is an advantage.
• Strong experience in Big Data and ETL.
• Experience with Spark Streaming and Spark SQL.
• Experience with DataFrames and Datasets.
• Experience with Kafka and/or messaging technologies such as MQ Series.
• Experience in high-volume data processing.
• Strong understanding of backend application development.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle Exadata.
• Experience with Elastic MapReduce (EMR).
• Experience with JUnit and automated testing.
• Good understanding of ETL testing.
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools, preferably TeamCity.
• Strong knowledge of software development processes, SDLC, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Good to Have / Desirable Skills

• Scala programming.
• Hadoop / Big Data technologies.
• Hive / Impala.
• Reactive programming and reactive design patterns.
• Test Driven Development (TDD).
• HTML5 / CSS3.
• JavaScript and JavaScript-based UI frameworks such as Angular.
• Experience with Business Objects or Tableau for reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as UFT, QuickTest Pro, WinRunner, SilkTest, Rational Robot, RIATest, or Green Hat.
• Knowledge of white-box and black-box testing.
• System and performance testing experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Team management or technical leadership experience.

Treasury / Domain Experience

Experience in Finance, Risk, Treasury, or Investment Banking is highly desirable.

Candidates with knowledge of the following areas will be preferred:

• Treasury and Liquidity Risk Management.
• Funding, Capital, and Collateral Management.
• Asset Liability Management (ALM).
• Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP).
• Portfolio Management.
• Finance/Controlling processes.
• Banking and Trading business workflows.
• Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, or Asset Management.

Required Experience

• Strong experience in enterprise software development using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building scalable, high-performance, and maintainable applications.
• Experience with high-volume data processing, ETL, and Big Data.
• Experience integrating applications with downstream systems.
• Strong understanding of application performance tuning.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Experience with automated testing and Test Driven Development practices.
• Ability to guide engineers, resolve complex technical issues, and contribute to architectural decisions.
