Description

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA and MES systems using Ignition for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Ignition MES solutions for production tracking, genealogy, traceability, downtime, SPC, and OEE.
• Establish data collection and integration from PLCs, sensors, HMIs, and machines using OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus.
• Develop connectivity bridges between on-prem Ignition and Azure cloud services (IoT Hub, Data Lake, SQL, Functions).
• Configure Industrial Data Historians and enable barcode/RFID/QR tracking systems for WIP traceability.
• Define system architecture based on ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards and document functional designs and SOPs.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in industrial automation, SCADA, and MES development.
• Expertise in Ignition SCADA (Gateway, Tag Historian, Perspective, MQTT modules).
• Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, Azure SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and JavaScript for Ignition Perspective/Vision.
• Experience with Azure IoT Hub, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, and Azure AD.
• Knowledge of PLC/SCADA integration (Siemens, Rockwell) and protocols (OPC UA/DA, Modbus TCP, BACnet).
• Understanding of industrial networking (VLAN, Firewalls, VPNs) and ISA-95/ISA-88 standards.

Preferred Skills

• Ignition Core or Gold Certification.
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure IoT certification.
