Description

This role focuses on advanced firewall security administration, troubleshooting, and optimization using Cisco Secure Firepower technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Cisco Secure Firepower Firewalls in production environments
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across firewall infrastructure, including intrusion prevention and file policy analysis
• Configure and troubleshoot Snort 3 policies for intrusion detection and prevention (IPS) and file-based security controls
• Analyze traffic flow and conduct packet-level inspection to diagnose network security issues
• Configure and troubleshoot Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT) settings
• Manage Security Intelligence policies to control network access based on threat intelligence
• Review and analyze access control rules to ensure proper security posture
• Manage Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) operations and policy deployment
• Troubleshoot and support VPN technologies, particularly Cisco AnyConnect implementations
• Support secure network routing and optimization across multiple OSI layers

Qualifications

• Required
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Secure Firepower Firewalls
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with Snort 3 (IPS and File Policies)
  • Demonstrated expertise in traffic flow analysis and packet inspection
  • Proficiency in NAT/PAT configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Security Intelligence policies
  • Ability to analyze access control rules and optimize firewall policies
  • Knowledge of OSI Layers 1–7, with particular emphasis on Layers 1–4
  • Solid operational experience with Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC)
  • Proven experience troubleshooting VPN technologies, including Cisco AnyConnect
  • Strong understanding of routing concepts and protocols in secured network environments
