Description

Architect and implement embedded firmware features, ensuring optimized performance for constrained CPU, memory, and power environments while managing hardware-software integration and automated validation.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement firmware features in C/C++ optimized for microcontrollers and RTOS-based systems.
• Develop low-level drivers and middleware to interface with sensors, actuators, and communication peripherals.
• Build and maintain automated testing frameworks using Python for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation.
• Lead technical code reviews and spikes to ensure firmware alignment with safety standards and system architecture.
• Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams to translate hardware requirements into firmware implementations.

Required Skills

• Extensive professional experience in embedded C/C++ development for ARM Cortex-M or ESP32 platforms.
• Design maintainable firmware architectures including interrupt handling, memory management, and state machines.
• Hands-on experience with I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and USB communication protocols.
• Proficiency debugging hardware-software interactions using JTAG/SWD debuggers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python for scripting, data analysis, or test harnesses.
• Familiarity with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar real-time operating systems.
• Experience working within SAFe or similar iterative environments for hardware development.
