Description

You will own and enhance a production dashboard built with vanilla JavaScript and Flask. Your work bridges frontend performance, real-time data streams, and full-stack reliability.

Responsibilities

• Migrate the application from polling-based updates to real-time push mechanisms such as WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE).
• Profile and optimize frontend performance by identifying true bottlenecks and implementing targeted fixes for UI responsiveness.
• Design and support versioned frontend API integrations for external platform consumption and internal self-service capabilities.
• Read, modify, and extend Flask route handlers and Jinja2 templates to improve system reliability and response handling.
• Collaborate with backend teams to refine API design and support incident response using observability tools.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience building production-grade frontend applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including deep understanding of DOM manipulation, event loop, fetch lifecycle, and browser rendering.
• Proven experience building and supporting real-time web applications using WebSockets or SSE, including connection lifecycle management and reconnection handling.
• Hands-on experience with Flask and Jinja2 templates in lightweight Python web environments.
• Ability to write API specifications and support version migrations from the consumer side.
• Experience with observability and incident response tools such as Datadog, Grafana, PagerDuty, or Splunk.
• Strong frontend performance tuning skills, including browser rendering analysis and network waterfall investigation.
