Description

You will design, implement, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency caching solutions using Apache Geode (GemFire) for mission-critical banking applications.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage GemFire/Geode clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience through proper locator and region configuration.
• Tune latency, memory usage, and garbage collection to achieve sub-millisecond response times in distributed environments.
• Implement ACID-compliant transactions, including two-phase commit and specific isolation levels like repeatable-read and read-committed.
• Develop custom logic using listeners, interceptors, compute-grid tasks, and continuous queries to handle complex data synchronization.
• Integrate caching layers with backend SQL databases, designing efficient cache invalidation and write-through/write-behind strategies.

Required Skills

• 7–8 years of professional experience in Java development with deep expertise in Apache Geode or Pivotal GemFire.
• Strong proficiency in Java APIs for Geode client/server integrations and distributed system concepts.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems architecture, including partitioning, consensus, replication, and fault tolerance.
• Practical knowledge of ACID principles applied within distributed caching contexts.
• Experience managing WAN (Wide Area Network) configurations for distributed data grids.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize high-performance computing scenarios.

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated experience deploying and managing GemFire/Geode clusters on cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with other in-memory NoSQL systems such as Redis, Hazelcast, Apache Ignite, Couchbase, or Ehcache.
