Description

You will manage the transition and automation of virtualization infrastructure from VMware to OpenShift on bare metal clusters.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure OpenShift clusters on bare metal environments.
• Replicate existing VMware customizations within OpenShift architectures.
• Automate deployment and configuration processes for wide-scale rollouts.
• Develop custom code to translate legacy VMware setups into OpenShift equivalents.
• Optimize performance and collaborate with software, hardware, and security teams.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in open-source software development and virtualization.
• Direct experience with OpenShift on bare metal clusters.
• Deep knowledge of open-source hypervisors at the kernel and firmware level.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and Go.
• Experience with KVM or similar infrastructure tools.
• Expertise in VMware environments.
• Ability to work directly with open-source code to adapt it to specific ecosystems.

Preferred Skills

• Background working at product companies such as Red Hat or VMware.
• Dual expertise in both infrastructure management and software engineering.
