Description

Provide DASD and tape storage administration for multiple customers and LPARs. Manage storage pools, perform problem diagnostics, and execute data and volume recovery. Own the daily, weekly, and monthly backup jobs and ensure 24x7 support across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure Mainframe DASD storage availability, SMS constructs, and ACS routines.
• Monitor and enhance storage, backups, and data replication for Sysplexes using DFSMS and DFHSM.
• Analyze DASD space concerns, configure capacity, and modify SMS/ACS code as required.
• Execute disaster recovery plans in coordination with DR services and technical teams.
• Follow SNOW change control procedures and maintain detailed documentation of issue causes and resolutions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience with z/OS, z/VM, SMP/E, JES/EJES, and JCL.
• Strong knowledge of DFSMS Management, Capacity Management, VTAM, and TSO/ISPF.
• Experience with IBM TS7700 series and EMC VMAX hardware and replication software.
• Ability to perform SMF or RMF research and analyze catalog reorgs.
• Proficient in using ISPF commands to manipulate data files and configure management classes.
• Understanding of JES3 and experience with SAS.
• Experience supporting 24x7 operations across multiple time zones.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of prior relevant mainframe storage experience.
