Description

You will maintain the security posture of organization information systems and interconnected networks for the HHS Security Team.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Detect and respond to agency-wide security incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams to eradicate threats.
• Monitor and analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits to implement scalable preventative security measures.
• Design cybersecurity architecture and develop security strategies to protect network infrastructure and computer systems.
• Triage incidents, review SOC alerts, and act as a liaison between third-party federal partners and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet state and regulatory requirements including IRS, SSA, and CMS.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience with security technologies including full packet capture, SIEM, NGFW, and IDPS.
• 8+ years of experience in security domains such as endpoint security, identity management, cloud security, and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on experience investigating security events and incidents using Microsoft Defender and Crowdstrike.
• Demonstrated experience integrating, deploying, and operating SIEM and SOAR systems.
• Experience managing security configurations, metrics, and third-party vulnerability and risk assessments.
• Ability to work independently to triage incidents and manage fluctuating workloads under short deadlines.
• Security+ certification.

Preferred Skills

• CISSP, CeH, CISA, or CISM certifications.
