Description

Lead the architectural design, deployment, and optimization of private cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and Ceph.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and expand OpenStack clusters, managing Nova, Neutron, Keystone, and Horizon components.
• Manage end-to-end hardware lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, and maintenance of physical infrastructure.
• Implement secure, scalable network configurations, including SDN and VLANs, ensuring high availability.
• Provide SME-level guidance on cloud performance, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Optimize private cloud platform stability and troubleshoot complex system issues.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Horizon).
• Expertise in Linux system administration, preferably RHEL.
• Proven experience designing and troubleshooting complex cloud networking environments (SDN, VLANs).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with a track record of acting as a Subject Matter Expert.
• Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
• Current NV1 Security Clearance is a must.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Ceph storage architecture and cluster management.
• Knowledge of data centre environments and hardware design.
• Exposure to automation, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
