This role owns the architectural vision and delivery of large-scale system modernization.
Responsibilities
Lead the architectural design replacing legacy Rail Transportation systems (Mainframe/TPF) with modern Java and Spring-based microservices in an event-driven architecture.
Define, document, and enforce architectural principles and standards for application design and integration.
Provide architectural leadership within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment to enable continuous integration and rapid delivery.
Act as subject matter expert for architectural modeling, event-driven architecture patterns, and enterprise information management (EIM).
Design and deliver application solutions that resolve complex business problems across multiple operational and technical domains.
Required Skills
15+ years of experience in multiple IT areas, with 10+ years in technology architecture roles.
Extensive experience defining and implementing solutions for rail transportation companies.
5+ years of practical experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Demonstrated knowledge of EA Frameworks, specifically TOGAF, Business Architecture, and DAMA (DMBok).
Broad experience transitioning from legacy systems (IBM Mainframe, TPF) to modern stacks (Java, Spring, microservices).
Expert knowledge of Java and Spring ecosystems.
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical business leaders.
