Description

You will manage database environments and cloud infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall health of all databases, including monitoring space management at both database and server levels.
• Troubleshoot performance and stability issues, identify root causes for business-critical alerts, and implement solutions.
• Manage Oracle physical standby and replicas, performing rebuilds or re-syncs as necessary.
• Execute software maintenance upgrades, security patches, fixes, and code deployments.
• Monitor database backups and work with backup teams to ensure data integrity.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in database administration and IT engineering.
• Proficiency in Oracle, Data Guard, and RMAN.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, specifically Lambda, CloudFormation, and Service Catalog.
• Experience managing databases in cloud environments, preferably RDS.
• Proficiency in Unix shell and Python scripting.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience administering PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Ability to increase security and enhance compliance within AWS.
• Ability to analyze long-running queries and provide optimization recommendations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based database management and automation.
