10+ years Java/J2EE development with strong OOP, Design Patterns & SOLID
4+ years in a Developer leadership role
8+ months experience with Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES) supporting HHS programs such as SNAP, HEAP, TA, PA, Fair Hearings, Child Support, etc.
Strong Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA
Strong experience with Microservices & REST APIs
Oracle/PostgreSQL, SQL & NoSQL
JUnit, Mockito, Maven/Gradle
AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker & Kubernetes
DevOps, CI/CD & Jenkins
Strong experience with Agile/Scrum and enterprise application development

What You’ll Do
Design and develop complex, high-volume, low-latency Java applications
Build scalable enterprise applications, microservices, and REST APIs
Contribute to front-end and back-end development
Participate throughout the SDLC, from analysis through deployment and maintenance
Troubleshoot complex production issues including performance, memory, and network problems
Collaborate with architects, testers, business analysts, product managers, and technical leads
Support deployment, modernization, system stability, and technical documentation
Ensure solutions meet New York State and applicable federal compliance requirements
Support the modernization of the New York State Integrated Eligibility System (IES)
