Description

You will design and maintain Java 8 backend applications, owning API development, database architecture, and security implementation.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using Java 8, JSON, and AJAX.
• Design database schemas and write complex SQL queries and stored procedures for MS SQL 2012–2016.
• Implement OAuth security protocols for API authentication.
• Manage code versioning with GIT and track tasks in Jira.
• Produce clear technical documentation and work independently.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 8 features and core libraries.
• Proven experience building RESTful services with JSON and AJAX.
• Database design proficiency with MS SQL (2012–2016), including stored procedures.
• Implementation experience with OAuth security standards.
• Experience with Employee Retirement Systems is mandatory.
• Proficiency with GIT and Jira.
• Previous experience serving State or Federal clients.

Preferred Skills

• 10+ years of physical presence in the U.S. (remote role requires 9+ years in U.S.).
• Ability to maintain concise resumes (4–5 pages max).
