Description

You will design and build applications using Java, Kafka, and REST APIs.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications utilizing Kafka, Java, and REST APIs with Spring Boot.
• Mentor junior staff on development practices.
• Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to define requirements.
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience programming and designing software in Java 8+.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Kafka.
• Extensive design and programming skills in Java and JEE technologies.
• Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and using JSON.
• Solid development experience with Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Experience architecting and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS or similar platforms.
• Experience working on Agile projects, preferably using SAFe.
• Proficiency with modern tools: Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, Maven, OpenShift.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing an event streaming pipeline using Confluent Kafka, including listeners.
• Exposure to writing Technical White Papers and systems design documents.
