Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement business rules using the Drools Rule Engine.
• Build and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable rule-based solutions.
• Develop and optimize DRL files, decision tables, and rule flows.
• Integrate Drools with Java applications, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to rule execution and application processing.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technical teams to define business rules.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to project planning and estimations.
• Create technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment guides.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java (Java 8/11/17).
• Hands-on experience with Drools Rule Engine (Drools Expert, KIE API, Decision Tables).
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, and Git.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Understanding of design patterns, OOP principles, and software development best practices.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BPM tools such as jBPM or Camunda.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domain experience is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
