Description

Architect and build cloud-native Java services on AWS, owning the full lifecycle from design to deployment and observability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure microservices using Java 11+/17 and Spring Boot.
• Define and enforce API contracts using OpenAPI, JSON, and contract testing tools like Pact.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, and ECS/EKS.
• Optimize system performance through JVM tuning, database indexing, and latency reduction.
• Mentor engineers and manage stakeholder expectations for complex integration projects.

Required Skills

• 10+ years professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years architecting cloud-native services on AWS.
• Expertise in Java 11/17, Spring Boot, REST, JSON, and OpenAPI.
• Proficient with asynchronous messaging (SNS, SQS, Kafka) and integration patterns.
• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora) and NoSQL experience (DynamoDB, DocumentDB).
• Hands-on with Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, and container orchestration (ECS/EKS).
• Front-end capability with React and TypeScript, including state management.
• Knowledge of security practices: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, WAF, and input validation.
• Experience with observability tools (logs, metrics, traces) and performance tuning.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with micro frontends and CEN/XFS APIs.
• Familiarity with Datadog, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Claude) and prompt engineering.
