Description

You will develop and maintain JVM-based drivers and connectors for MongoDB, including support for Java, Scala, Kotlin, and Spark.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support the Java, Reactive Streams, Scala, and Kotlin drivers, plus the Spark Connector.
• Integrate with ORM frameworks and AI tools to enhance library functionality.
• Investigate bugs and resolve support requests from commercial and open-source customers.
• Collaborate with Product, Server, and Cloud teams to design new MongoDB features.
• Mentor junior engineers on technical skills and professional development.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience writing high-quality software in Java or other JVM languages.
• Proficiency in Java and deep familiarity with the JVM environment.
• Experience with concurrency, parallelism, and distributed systems.
• Experience implementing libraries or applications.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with JavaScript.
• Ability to advocate for testing and modern development best practices.
• Proven ability to make pragmatic design tradeoffs between features and maintainability.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with open-source software integration.
• Background in mentoring technical teams.
