Description

Administer and maintain Apache Kafka clusters in a production environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage Kafka brokers, ZooKeeper/KRaft architectures, and Confluent Kafka components.
• Configure and maintain Kafka Connect and Schema Registry for data integration.
• Implement and enforce security protocols including SSL/TLS, SASL, Kerberos, and ACLs.
• Monitor cluster health and performance using Prometheus, Grafana, and JMX.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
• Deep expertise in Apache Kafka administration, including brokers and cluster tuning.
• Proficiency with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, and JMX.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience with configuration management and IaC tools: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Understanding of Kafka security mechanisms and production support best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based Kafka deployments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Confluent certifications.
