Description

You will design and build event-driven applications using Kafka and Java.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications using Kafka, Java, REST APIs, and Spring Boot.
• Build event streaming pipelines via Confluent Kafka, including listener implementation.
• Lead technical solution design and mentor junior staff on project work.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience programming and designing software with Java.
• Extensive experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Kafka, including stream processing.
• Strong development experience with Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and Web Services using JSON.
• 8+ years of experience working on Agile development teams.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, and OpenShift.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience implementing Section 508 standards for web applications.
• Prior experience with federal or state government IT projects.
• Experience writing technical white papers and system design documents.
