Description

You will design, deploy, and maintain highly available Amazon EKS clusters for large-scale data processing.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate secure Kubernetes environments in private AWS VPCs, including air-gapped deployments and internal registries.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in scheduling, autoscaling, networking, and cluster performance using Karpenter and distributed systems.
• Optimize node provisioning and capacity management (Spot/On-Demand) to balance performance, resiliency, and cost.
• Implement resource management strategies using ResourceQuotas, LimitRanges, taints, and affinity rules.
• Deploy persistent storage solutions (EBS/EFS) and build observability stacks for logging, monitoring, and alerting.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering.
• Deep expertise administering Kubernetes in large-scale production environments.
• Strong experience designing and operating Amazon EKS clusters.
• Experience with Kubernetes autoscaling technologies (Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler).
• Hands-on AWS experience: EC2, EBS, EFS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling.
• Strong scripting/programming in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience supporting Apache Spark or distributed compute frameworks in Kubernetes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.

Preferred Skills

• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience operating air-gapped or highly secure cloud environments.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools (ArgoCD or Flux) and FinOps strategies.
