Description

You will design, build, and maintain complex financial systems within a mainframe environment, ensuring reliability, security, and operational excellence across legacy and modern stacks.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and debug complex solutions using COBOL, JCL, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and TSO/ISPF.
• Produce technical specifications, flow diagrams, and proof-of-concepts to evaluate solution feasibility.
• Own source control, build, and deployment activities in compliance with SDLC and secure coding standards.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for high-risk production issues, conducting root-cause analysis.
• Mentor onshore and offshore developers, providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, SQL (DB2), VSAM, CICS, TSO/ISPF, and z/OS USS.
• Deep understanding of mainframe architecture, batch/job scheduling, and performance tuning.
• Experience with modern development stacks including Python and Pega.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, secure coding practices, and audit-driven development standards.
• Proficiency in Jira for tracking deliverables and issues.
• Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise financial systems and application support in regulated environments.
• Experience partnering with offshore teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
