Description

You will serve as a Linux subject matter expert, engineering, troubleshooting, and optimizing systems for performance and security.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, test, and harden Linux systems to ensure peak performance and security.
• Design, implement, and optimize Linux file systems.
• Develop automation workflows and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Create technical drawings and schematics for system architectures.
• Manage tasks and projects within a SAFe/Agile environment using Jira.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of the Linux kernel.
• Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, and package management via Satellite Server.
• Experience with RPM tools (rpm, dnf, nmcli) and Debian-based tools (apt, Ubiquity, Debian Installer, UFW).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Proficiency reading and writing YAML and JSON.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet and Chef.
• Hands-on experience with vCenter, VMware OVF Tool, HashiCorp Vault, and Packer.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of CIS Workbench hardening and Linux Test Project.
• Experience with TestRail and GitLab CI/CD workflows.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
