Role Overview

As a Senior Linux Infrastructure & Patch Management Engineer, you will lead the migration of Linux servers and applications from Ubuntu 18.04 to Ubuntu 26.04. Key responsibilities include planning and executing OS upgrades, applying security patches, and defining patch management processes. You will develop Ansible playbooks for automation and create scripts using Shell or Python. The role requires strong Ubuntu Linux administration skills, experience with patch management, Ansible automation, and Linux networking fundamentals

Years of Experience : 6 – 8 years

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the migration of Linux servers and Customer applications from Ubuntu 18.04 to Ubuntu 26.04.

* Plan, test, validate, and execute OS upgrades with rollback and recovery procedures.

* Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Ubuntu Linux systems (22.04 or higher).

* Apply security patches, system updates, and vulnerability fixes across Linux environments.

* Define and maintain standardized patch management and deployment processes.

* Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for provisioning, configuration management, patching, and application deployment.

* Create automation scripts using Shell or Python.

* Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot enterprise applications and Linux-based web servers.

* Configure and manage TLS/SSL certificates and secure communications.

* Troubleshoot Linux networking issues involving DNS, routing, firewalls, VLANs, and TCP/IP.

* Collaborate with development, infrastructure, QA, and cybersecurity teams to ensure platform stability and security.

Required Skills

* Strong Ubuntu Linux administration (22.04 or higher)

* Experience with Ubuntu OS migration and application compatibility testing

* Strong Patch Management experience

* Strong Ansible automation

* Shell scripting and/or Python

* Linux networking fundamentals and troubleshooting

* TLS/SSL and Linux web server administration

Preferred Skills

* Docker and Docker Compose

* CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions)

* VMware or AWS experience

* Infrastructure monitoring tools

* Linux security hardening and vulnerability management
