Description

Manage high-availability J2EE platforms and infrastructure initiatives in a VMware environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain 24/7 high-availability J2EE application environments.
• Own infrastructure initiatives involving JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Design and implement solutions for LAMP and WebLogic environments.
• Optimize IT operations through proactive server management and security implementation.
• Lead and supervise direct reports while interfacing with business units.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise IT systems engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux, specifically Red Hat and CentOS.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools: Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
• Deep understanding of virtualization, server management, security, and SAN.
• Proficiency with JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Strong server-side scripting skills in Perl, Python, or Shell.
• Ability to manage and lead technical teams.
• Proven experience in high-availability, high-traffic, consumer-facing environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAN and NAS configuration, specifically EMC and Isilon systems.
