Description

You will manage and support the Unisys MCP mainframe environment, focusing on legacy application maintenance and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing COBOL and ALGOL based applications to ensure functional efficiency.
• Develop and optimize WFL scripts for job scheduling and automation on Unisys MCP systems.
• Manage Unisys MCP environments, including OS management, job processing, and system configuration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to COBOL, ALGOL, WFL, and MCP.
• Document all systems, processes, and code changes to support team maintainability.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in COBOL, ALGOL, and WFL development within a mainframe environment.
• Expert knowledge of Unisys MCP, including system administration and job processing.
• Extensive experience maintaining and enhancing legacy COBOL and ALGOL applications.
• Proficiency in batch processing and workflow automation using WFL.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in MCP systems.
• Experience optimizing and refactoring legacy code for performance and scalability.
• Knowledge of mainframe performance tuning techniques and methodologies.
• Understanding of data migration and system integration for mainframe environments.
• Experience with modernization projects, including integrating mainframes with modern systems.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with other mainframe languages such as PL/I, Assembler, or JCL.
