Description

You will develop and maintain production software systems within a mainframe environment, coordinating testing, debugging, and system documentation while mentoring junior developers.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Implement code changes following established standards, guidelines, and design documents.
• Coordinate testing, debugging, and test data preparation for mainframe applications.
• Perform in-depth code reviews, code analysis, and maintain system documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior software developers through knowledge transfer.
• Interact with technical and non-technical staff to coordinate system changes.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS and MVS/JCL.
• IBM DB2 for z/OS.
• Software AG's NATURAL and CICS Web Services.
• CONTROL-M for z/OS and BMC Code Pipeline (formerly Compuware ISPW).
• Topaz, IDz, or Eclipse for Mainframe.
• Java, React JS, Node JS, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS, or Python.
• Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Designing and implementing secure RESTful web services and microservices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Texas CPA Statewide Financial Systems (USAS, USPS, SPRS, TINS, HRIS, or SPA).
• Public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local Government).
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
