Lead mainframe development teams and ensure technical excellence for critical applications.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design, and development of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
• Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering skill growth and providing technical direction.
• Define architectural standards and lead design sessions for complex technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Monitor application performance, implement tuning strategies, and coordinate with offshore teams.

Required Skills

• 12–15 years of hands-on mainframe development and leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
• Experience with debugging and management tools: Xpediter, Abend-AID, File Manager, ADCP.
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage technical deliverables.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience partnering with QA to define testing strategies and support automation initiatives.
• Ability to assess business requirements and technical feasibility.
