Description

Act as a senior technical analyst and junior architect to analyze legacy mainframe systems and document logic for migration to a .NET environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze COBOL programs, CICS definitions, ADS/IDMS, and JCL to trace and document data system logic and flows.
• Extract and document business and functional rules embedded within mainframe programs and third-party utilities.
• Create detailed system analysis documentation to serve as the foundation for a system rewrite into a .NET distributed environment.
• Perform mainframe programming using COBOL, VSAM, Panvalet, and MVS JCL/PROCs.
• Build cross-platform solutions involving mainframe CICS/batch jobs and MS Windows servers.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience with COBOL, IDMS, and ADS/O.
• 10+ years of experience with MVS JCL and PROCs.
• 10+ years of experience with VSAM and File Aid for file analysis.
• 10+ years of experience defining and documenting existing business processes.
• 10+ years of experience with Panvalet or similar mainframe source control repositories.
• Proficiency in tracing logic via Easytrieve, Culprit, IDCAMS, and SYNCSORT.
• Strong understanding of relational data modeling with SQL and the Windows .NET platform.
• Ability to build consumer and provider web services on the mainframe.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Visio.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Control-M scheduling software.
• Previous experience with Iowa DHS or Child Support systems.
