Description

You will design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications within a complex production environment in Irving, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop COBOL, DB2, and CICS programs, including COPYBOOKS and interface Gateway Modules for Java and .NET integration.
• Analyze requirements with business analysts to create detailed application designs and technical specifications.
• Develop and schedule mainframe jobs using JCL, PROCs, and CA7 Scheduler.
• Perform performance tuning on long-running application code and complex DB2 SQL queries.
• Manage code promotions from development to UAT and production using Work Bench Tool.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with COBOL, DB2, and CICS.
• Proficiency in JCL, PROCs, and SYSIN Control Cards.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as FileAid, SPUFI, SyncSort/DFSort, and ServiceNow.
• Working knowledge of SQL and complex query optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and the SDLC process.
• Ability to debug mainframe code using INTERTEST and other diagnostic tools.
• Experience with OpenText Exstream, DYL, or Webview.
• Familiarity with JIRA and AFP Analyzer.
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience serving in a technical lead capacity during project development phases.
