Description

You will design, develop, and maintain COBOL-based applications while leading code analysis and modernization efforts for legacy systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications and JCL jobs for batch processing and scheduling.
• Perform code screening, reverse engineering, and refactoring to identify dependencies, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Manage job automation and monitoring using CCS, Control-M, or similar enterprise scheduling tools.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes to ensure system stability.
• Support QA/UAT cycles, document technical specifications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for distributed system integration.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe development.
• Strong hands-on expertise with COBOL and JCL.
• Proficiency with mainframe utilities including VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
• Experience with DB2 and CICS transaction processing.
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools such as CCS, Control-M, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in code analysis, reverse engineering, and refactoring legacy systems.
• Ability to work with APIs, middleware, and web services for integration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
