Description

You will maintain, enhance, and modernize legacy applications within a Unisys MCP environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing COBOL and ALGOL based applications to ensure functional efficiency.
• Develop and optimize WFL scripts for job scheduling and automation on Unisys MCP systems.
• Manage Unisys MCP environments, including OS management, job processing, and system configuration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to COBOL, ALGOL, WFL, and MCP.
• Document all systems, processes, and code changes to support team maintenance.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in COBOL, ALGOL, and WFL development in a mainframe environment.
• Expert knowledge of Unisys MCP, including system administration and automation.
• Extensive experience maintaining and enhancing legacy COBOL and ALGOL applications.
• Proficiency with batch processing and job scheduling using WFL.
• Ability to refactor legacy code for improved performance and scalability.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing COBOL, ALGOL, and MCP system issues.
• Experience with mainframe performance tuning techniques.
• Understanding of data migration and system integration for mainframe systems.
• Knowledge of mainframe security, compliance, and disaster recovery procedures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Unisys MCP upgrade or migration projects.
• Experience with modernization projects involving legacy-to-modern system integration.
