Description

You will own the development, maintenance, and modernization of legacy mainframe applications, ensuring system stability and integration with distributed environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications and JCL jobs, managing batch processing and scheduling workflows.
• Perform code screening, analysis, and reverse engineering to identify dependencies, inefficiencies, and refactoring opportunities in legacy systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration with distributed systems, APIs, and middleware.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes while ensuring adherence to coding standards and security practices.
• Support QA/UAT cycles, document technical specifications, and contribute to mainframe modernization strategies.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Mainframe development.
• Strong hands-on expertise with COBOL and JCL.
• Experience with mainframe utilities including VSAM and DB2.
• Proficiency in CICS transaction processing.
• Experience with job scheduling tools such as Control-M or enterprise scheduling systems.
• Proven track record in code analysis, reverse engineering, and refactoring.
• Ability to work with APIs and understand system integration concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with mainframe modernization initiatives and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices for mainframe environments.
