Description

You will own the development, maintenance, and modernization of legacy COBOL-based mainframe applications.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mainframe code to identify dependencies, inefficiencies, and refactoring opportunities.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications using JCL for batch processing and scheduling.
• Manage job automation and monitoring using CCS or Control-M enterprise scheduling systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes for high-volume transaction systems.
• Support QA/UAT cycles, document technical specifications, and ensure adherence to coding and security standards.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Mainframe development with a Bachelor's degree.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with COBOL and JCL.
• Experience with Mainframe utilities including VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
• Proven experience in code analysis, reverse engineering, and refactoring legacy systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration with distributed systems.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with system integration concepts such as APIs, middleware, and web services.
• Exposure to mainframe modernization initiatives and cloud integration.
