Description

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Mainframe applications, translating business requirements into technical solutions.

You will own the full lifecycle of batch and online processing systems, ensuring high reliability and performance. This includes code reviews, debugging, production support, and participating in modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and IMS.
  • Analyze business requirements and design technical solutions for distributed and Mainframe systems.
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and architects to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and support materials.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Application Development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and IMS/DC & IMS/DB.
  • Proficiency in TSO/ISPF and experience with batch processing and online transaction systems.
  • Strong SQL and database design knowledge.
  • Experience with source control and change management tools such as Endevor, Changeman, or Git.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize application performance.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or Retail domains.
  • Exposure to Mainframe modernization, cloud migration, or API integration projects.
  • Familiarity with Java, .NET, MQ Series, Control-M, or distributed technologies.
