Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer

You will own the engineering, support, and leadership of a large-scale mainframe and open system environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering assistance to infrastructure engineers and administrators.
• Install, upgrade, and patch IBM mainframe hardware, z/OS, and third-party software including CA, BMC, LRS, and Information Builders.
• Design and operate enterprise-wide mainframe infrastructure in highly virtualized environments.
• Plan and execute complex projects such as hardware refreshes, global consolidations, and major software upgrades.
• Deliver 24x7 support for services used across large international organizations.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of technical experience in mainframe and open system engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of IBM z/OS administration, performance tuning, and patching.
• Strong expertise in IBM mainframe hardware lifecycle, firmware, and module patching.
• Deep knowledge of CICS administration and workload management.
• Experience with mainframe storage and tape management systems, including storage replication technology.
• Proficiency in JobTrac administration and IDMS database concepts.
• Knowledge of ITIL service management disciplines for continuous improvement.
• Ability to plan and execute third-party software upgrades to maintain supported versions.

Preferred Skills

• 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership to infrastructure teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for rapid problem resolution.
