Description

You will own the technical product ownership for a large-scale mainframe modernization program, mapping legacy business processes to modern cloud requirements and driving end-to-end execution.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Decompose complex modernization efforts into clear workstreams, EPICs, and execution plans while maintaining backlog ownership.
• Map legacy business processes to modern technical requirements and define architecture views aligned with milestones.
• Own the technical plan, sequencing, dependencies, and RAID logs, providing executive-level status reporting.
• Manage Data Integration strategies, including extracting data via CDC or APIs, and oversee replatforming patterns like EBCDIC-to-ASCII conversion and VSAM to RDBMS migration.
• Facilitate proactive stakeholder engagement across engineering, data, cloud, and PMO teams to ensure forward momentum.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a hands-on Technical Product Owner leading mainframe modernization programs.
• Strong command of Product and Agile execution using Jira, aligned to DevSecOps models.
• Deep understanding of z/OS systems, JCL, CICS, and Control-M logic.
• Experience with Mainframe-to-Cloud re-hosting patterns (e.g., Micro Focus, Rocket Software) and environmental parity.
• Proficiency in creating decision logs, RAID logs, dependency matrices, and wave plans.
• Ability to translate batch job translations and flat file requirements into technical specifications.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on COBOL experience to understand legacy logic without requiring active coding.
• Familiarity with GCP or cloud architecture supporting the modernization effort.
