Description

Lead engineering squads to deliver, govern, and operate enterprise data products for Nike Direct and Marketplace.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage Engineering Managers and Senior ICs, owning delivery, reliability, and operational health of data products.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of data products including APIs, pipelines, consumption layers, and ontologies.
• Drive production reliability, security, and cost efficiency by setting SLAs and leading major incident response.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Data Governance leadership to shape strategy, roadmap, and execution.
• Attract and hire exceptional engineers, growing technical talent from SWE I to Principal levels.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years managing software or data engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in Data Engineering and Backend Engineering.
• Hands-on proficiency with Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake.
• Experience with Unity Catalog for data governance and access control.
• Strong background with Airflow for orchestration and Kafka for streaming.
• Proven track record in managing globally distributed teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with dbt, AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platforms.
• Retail or commerce scale experience.
• Experience driving large migrations, decommissions, or building agentic/AI-powered analytics platforms.
