Description

You own the mechanical design lifecycle for data center equipment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Implement designs using Creo 3D CAD, producing drawings, critical dimensions, and 3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Structure the Bill of Materials (BOM), manage design releases, and process changes using Product Lifecycle Management tools within an Agile framework.
• Coordinate peer and cross-functional design reviews and evaluate other engineers' designs.
• Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and furnish PCB design drawings/3D files to the ECAD team.
• Validate prototypes in the lab against CAD designs, debug issues, and communicate manufacturing problems to the Contract Manufacturer (CM).

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design of computer or network equipment for data centers.
• Proficiency with ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes.
• Experience using ProEngineer (PTC Creo).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience designing sheet metal parts following soft and hard tooling guidelines.
• Experience designing plastic parts for cosmetic and non-cosmetic applications.
• Ability to interface with electrical engineers and CMs on design for manufacturability (DFM).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Mechanica (PTC Creo Simulate) and thermal simulation/airflow testing.
• Familiarity with PDMLink (PTC Windchill).
